Life | Goodbye 2017 & Hello 2018!

Life | Goodbye 2017 & Hello 2018!

Well it seems I've got my blogging mojo back, which is definitely a good way to start the new year. I aim to be here a little more often. I'm definitely a little later posting this than I'd anticipated because I've got lots of ideas for blogposts at the moment.

Today I'm taking a little look back at 2017, and sharing some of my goals for 2018.

Some of the things I did for the first time in 2017:

  • Surfing - well I had a surfing lesson - there's no way I'm going to call myself a surfer just yet! haha
  • Clay Pigeon shooting - as part of a friend's hen do.
  • Ran 10K. I ran a 10K race for the first time last March, you can read more here.
  • Went on holiday with the family I work for -  it was the first time in 7 years that I'd travelled with them and it was such a lovely lovely trip.
  • Acquired a husband(!)
  • I'm sure there's more but I just can't think right now..

So onto my.. Goals for 2018

I'm not really the sort of person that makes New Years resolutions, because I think we should probably work at things all year round. But I've definitely got some goals for 2018.

  • Run 50 miles in January - I've challenged myself to run 50 miles in January viana virtual race programme called 'Race at your Own Pace'. This should ld kick start my running in 2018. I’m also excited because I’ll get a medal. Anyone else a big medal fan?
  • Travel - as much as physically possible. : ) I know that we won't always be able to travel as much as we do now, for various reasons, so I'm all for doing as much travel while we can!
  • 30 before 30 - I've been compiling a list of '30 things to do before I'm 30’ for about the past 2 years now. (Yes, I'm one of these people that has tonnes of draft blogposts sitting around! I've never got round to publishing that pos). I’ll finish that blog post soon and get it published as I will turn 30 later this year. And it will help me to focus on the rest of my goals for 2018!
  • Look after myself - life can be and will be challenging at times and I need to learn to give myself some ‘me time’ and relax. I'm not always very good at relaxing and find we spend a lot of time rushing here there and everywhere. {Is that just life? A London thing? Something our generation do?} So I need to take some time to relax - maybe book a massage for something.
  • Read - I think I say it every year, but one of my goals is always to read more. I really must try harder this year.
  • Run for Fun - I want to learn to pace myself a lot better, and not always go off at race pace, or faster. But having said that I also want to pursue my goals of improving my race times. So we'll see how that pans out.
  •  Keep blogging.. I’m really hoping to get back into writing here during 2018.
  • Wandering - Back along I wrote quite a few posts about Wandering London - I want to explore more and just wander. Get lost in the place I am exploring and just enjoy. I don't want to be limited to time frames, or having to see this that or the other. I just want to relax and explore.

What are your goals for 2018?

 Sarah ♥
