Life | Life Lately
June arrived and just like that half the year has gone. I can't quite believe it. So I thought it was about time for a little update.
What I've been.. READING.. lately.
So far this year I've read 10 books, I have to say I haven't read quite as much in the last month or so, because I've been busy settling into my new job. However I'm still impressed with the amount of books I've read. I set myself a 'reading challenge' on Goodreads (I may have told you this before...) where as I only read 7 books during the whole of 2017! The key to this is that I've found some really good books to read. I'm currently reading The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down and the next book in my to read pile is Matt Haig's Reason's to Stay Alive, which is meant to be great - particularly in raising awareness of Mental Health issues which is something I feel strongly about.
What I've been.. EATING.. lately.
At home - Lots of salads - this warm weather has me craving salads anyway, but I also somehow managed to shatter our oven door which meant the oven was out of action for a little while.
Out - Yummy brunches - I couldn't write this post without mentioning the lovely brunch we had at Timmy Green in Victoria, last weekend. I chose this Coconut bread French toast, thick Greek yogurt, fresh & freeze dried raspberries, mango, shaved coconut, bee pollen, and pure Vermont maple. It tasted as good as it looks.
Where I've been.. TRAVELLING.. lately
Slovakia - at the end of May we travelled to Slovakia for a close friend of mines' wedding. We had a wonderful time, exploring by car and seeing another country - it's definitely inspired us to do more road trips, as the Boy loves driving and together we love travelling. We spent a night at each end of the trip in Vienna, which was equally as beautiful. This trip showed us there's so much we've yet to see in Europe.
What I've been.. DOING.. lately.
Wandering - When we've got visitors in town it's always lovely to do a spot of Wandering. We met for Brunch with my sister in law and her boyfriend, and then wandered the mews' of Victoria. Of course Peggy Porschen steals the show, and Ebury Street is just covered in flowers at the moment. Queue the new profile picture!
I do love Peggy Porschen, although it's definitely become a bloggers paradise. It's now swarming with people, I'm convinced some are just there to take photos. I just hope they do buy a cake or two. Although I guess the exposure is good for business, whether or not people are buying!
I can't believe this is what it looked like when I started blogging...!
Wandering is something I need to do more of.. just look at these pretty house.. Who doesn't love getting lost amongst pretty London streets?
Which Blogs I've been.. READING.. lately.
A Lady in London - If you're a Mews Fan, you should check out this wonderful post Prettiest Mews in London by Julie. There's so many beautiful corners in London that I'm yet to explore.
Fresh & Fearless - I found Aftab's post on 'Why he doesn't count the countries he's visited' very interesting. I'm definitely a little guilty of counting countries, and perhaps I shouldn't be, so thanks for the inspiration Aftab!
AlysGeorge - I couldn't not mention my lovely sister in law's blog here. Alys' post on our 'Brunch at Timmy Green' will have your mouth watering.
The Travel Link Up - At the beginning of each mont Emma, Angie & Polly host The #TravelLinkUp, which this month I was lucky enough to be the co host of. I loved reading different interpretations of the topic - Travel Luxuries, read more here.
What we've been.. DECORATING.. lately.
I never quite realised how much I enjoy interior design until we gained a project. A big project I must add. I'm still as excited by my feature grey wall as I was the day I painted it. So if you fancy a weekend away in Somerset, please check out our Airbnb listing, here.
That's a rather rambley post, what have you been doing lately?
